I should live so long...

From the NY Times:

Daniel Button, Editor and Lawmaker dead at 91

Daniel E. Button, a former member of Congress, newspaper editor and author, died here on Saturday. He was 91.

The cause was a respiratory ailment, his daughter Nancy Button Nathan said.

As executive editor of The Times Union in the 1960s, Button challenged Albany’s Democratic machine, which was headed by Erastus Corning and Daniel O’Connell.

He was elected to the House of Representatives as a Republican in a heavily Democratic district in 1966 and served two terms. He ran unsuccessfully for a third term as an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War in 1970.
