This morning's music video

Presented for your consideration is the glorious quartet from the opera "Rigoletto". Joan Sutherland and Luciano Pavarotti sing "Bella Figlia dell'Amore".

For Fans Of "Little Britain"

While scanning the world news blogs I came across a story in The Sun from London. It reminded me of the Vicky Pollard character (in pink in the photo below) from the series "Little Britain". The story in The Sun was outrageous, but the photo was priceless. Any thoughts?

Street Sex Act Girl In Court Rap

RANDY reveller Emma Modrate repeatedly performed sex acts on her boyfriend in the street in front of dozens of appalled passers-by.

The 26-year-old landed herself in court for the despicable act which was captured on CCTV. Modrate performed the act three times on her boyfriend Liam Dougherty outside Yates’ pub in Durham city centre in front of outraged onlookers. At one stage a tramp stood behind the couple and chatted to Dougherty while the act was being carried out, Durham Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Leslie Kirkup said of the CCTV footage: “There were breaks in between with members of the public walking up and down the street all the while. “A gentleman who appears to be homeless stands behind the couple. “At one point he is in conversation with the male defendant.”

The court heard that Modrate had a long criminal history and has appeared in court on 33 occasions since 1998. This offence, on September 9 last year, breached a 12-month suspended prison sentence she was given in February 2007 for supplying diamorphine. Andrew Finlay, mitigating, said: “She has now separated from Mr Dougherty after a record of considerable domestic violence.” Mr Finlay said Modrate was cooperating with the probation service on a drug rehabilitation scheme.

Judge Richard Lowden said: “It seems the probation service have more faith in you than I have. I have reviewed your case over the last year and it seems you have been going backwards. “However, I am going to give you one more chance.”

Today Modrate, of Bowburn, County Durham, was given a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to outraging public indecency. Dougherty, of Thornley, had his case adjourned until February 27 for the preparation of a psychiatric report.
