March (Food) Holidays

It's that time of year again when the food holidays come fast and furious as noted in this post from last year. Purim ends tonight and the brisket sandwiches have been exceptional. I am, however, more looking forward to St. Patrick's Day (on the 17th of March) and the Festa di San Giuseppe (on the 19th of March). Last year I wrote that we would probably go to the fluvian palazzo of the Principessa Pomodori for her Corned Beef and Cabbage but we were invited at the last minute to dine at The Hyannis Yacht Club and enjoy their dinner. I must say that it was the best Corned Beef and Cabbage we had eaten (out) since the Bee-Hive Tavern changed hands. The portions were immense and the quality of the offerings was superb. I have included some photos of our dinner there below. We plan on going there again this year as we have joined "the Club" this year ourselves. (Click on the links above and below)

The menu
I had the Baked Oysters which were absolutely delicious
The amount of Corned Beef in my dinner was ridiculous. I had enough left over for Bubble and Squeak the next day!
Tobin had the Braised Lamb Shank which he said was delicious
Bob ordered the Irish Breakfast
We cannot wait to go back this year. Stay tuned for our review in a week or so.

Photo: A Tale of Two Governors

Governor Martin O'Malley(l) signed the Maryland Marriage Equality Bill. Governor Chris Christie(r)  did not. I'm thinking I'd vote for Mr. O'Malley, not that I'm shallow or anything...

Thanks to Queerty for the pic.
