Stinkin' Snow!
Well, the vacation that Buzzy and I have been planning, which was to include a lovely Valentine's dinner for two on the beach in Punta Can has been delayed due to last Sunday's snowstorm in Boston. Ugh! And boy did I need to vacation. It has been postponed for March now. The tour people had postponed the flight to Monday (from Sunday) at 8:45am and then to 3:45pm. We would have lost about two days of our vacation and Buzzy was going to have to leave on Friday anyway for a job in the western US. All things considered, it was the best thing to do.
We did go to our friend Nicky's restaurant in Boston on Saturday night. The place is called The Blue Room and is located in Kendall Square. We were warmly welcomed to the establishment by Nick and his now fiancee Liz. The restaurant is really quite nice with very eclectic food and a terrific ambiance. Nick started us off with an appetizer of ravioli with a chicken liver in it, seared, in a vinaigrette sauce. Now I am not a big fan of chicken livers, but the vinaigrette was a lovely counterpoint to the flavor of the chicken liver. Buzzy had a grilled quail appetizer while I had a lamb brochette with a cucumber yogurt sauce. For an entree, Buzzy had a grilled Pork Chop with a Bourbon glaze and I had Moroccan-spiced Roasted Chicken. Boy was everything tasty. Nick sent over Delamain Vespers for "afters". All in all, a wonderful dinner and a great visit with Nick and Liz. Please do go visit them when you are in Boston (Cambridge).
Wish us luck on our next try. We both could use this vacation and the resort (Secrets Excellence Punta Cana) is a terrific place to relax.

Please be kind. If not, I won't be either.
