About a dozen law enforcement officials descended upon the
local campaign office of former Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Illinois, on Thursday
afternoon, removing boxes and other materials from the building.
According to local media reports,
federal agents wearing FBI gear raided the central Illinois office over the
course of six hours. They loaded boxes of documents, a computer, and other
miscellaneous objects into trucks.
Officers on the scene reportedly referred all media queries
to the U.S. attorney for the Central District of Illinois. The U.S. attorney's
office declined to comment.
