**UPDATED** 132 House Dems Sign Amicus Brief in California DOMA Case

I just received the following statement from Rep. Lynch's office regarding his absence on the list of Democratic congresspersons who signed the amicus brief in the DOMA case in California:

Our office was not aware that the amicus brief was being circulated.  Congressman Lynch has long opposed the so-called Defense of Marriage Act and is an original co-sponsor of H.R. 1116, the Respect for Marriage Act, which would repeal DOMA.

We at Frenchy's House Party would like to thank Rep. Lynch for his co-sponsoring of H.R. 1116, but he needs to keep his eye on the ball. Unless the House is retaken by a Democratic majority and we hold the Senate and the Presidency, we will never see a legislative repeal of the odious DOMA legislation that prevents the brave gay and lesbian servicemembers in our Armed Forces from receiving the same benefits and privileges that other American servicemmbers receive. We cannot miss any chance to get rid of that objectionable law.

Thank you once again Rep. Lynch.  Keep up the good work and tell your staff to keep vigilant.
